kitebuggying

A Kite Buggy is a small, lightweight, 3 wheeled vehicle which is pulled along by a power kite, also known as a traction kite, to speeds of up to 70mph.

The pilot steers the buggy using his/her feet which controls the front wheel. The rear wheels don’t turn. To move the buggy forward the pilot flies the kite into the window (the direction of which the wind is blowing) and flies the kite across the window pulling them along in the buggy.

Careful - no brakes! The buggy has no braking system so practice and wind powered vehicle insurance are a must!

The kites range from 3m to 10m 4 lined traction kites. These are smaller to the kite used in Kite Landboarding and Kite Surfing as they are more manoeuvrable and move faster but take note they are also more difficult to keep in the air. Practice flying the kite without the buggy first until you build your confidence and then give the crazy 3 wheeled buggy ago.

Of course pads, helmets etc are a must!
